Matsushima
Matsushima, well known as one of the three famous beauty spots of Japan, is located in the bay of the north east of Sendai City. There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 260 large and small islands having black and red pines on white rocks. Those artistic islands have been loved for its beauty by many famous writers including the Haiku poet Basho. The best position to see a beautiful and various scenery is from the pleasure boat cruising the islands.
